 FREE HEATLH CARE CLINIC

Just this past Saturday (Nov. 14), the National Assoc. of Free Clinics, along with the Louisiana Free Clinics Assoc., sponsored a free health clinic in New Orleans aimed at those who aren't currently receiving treatment because of inadequate or non-existent health coverage.
The 727 doctors, nurses, other medical providers and non-medical volunteers diagnosed & treated over 1,000 people; many of these patients were, according to NOLA.com, discovered to have " cancer, diabetes and hypertension, and four people were so ill they were sent immediately to hospitals."
Dr. Rani Whitfield, a physician from upstate
Baton Rouge,
told the website: "The need is ridiculous, so we've got to do something...These people need to be seen."
NBC News reported the next morning that 83% of these patients were employed - so what's wrong with this picture? Is there any denying the need for quality health care reform, like the medical panel at the Nov. 8 'Health Forum/Tea(bag) Party' seem to suggest? What do you think?
