Luau - September '09

The Rankin Dem Luau was the first major social event of the Women's Federation.  Thanks to John and Grace Logan who graciously let Rankin Dems hold the event in their backyard and it was the perfect setting.  There were hula dancers, guitar players, there was great food from Hamil's in Madison, pretty decorations, tiki torches and people dressed in Hawaiian gear.  Rankin Dems prooved once again, they know how to have a good time.  To read more about the event go to the Women's Federation page and scroll down to the news section.  There are a few pics below.

Muscadine Festival '09-

Pelahatchie, MS

For the past two years, Rankin Dems have participated in the Muscadine Festival in Pelahatchie.  It has proven to be well worth our effort.  Politicians come and stomp on grapes and in an election year they stump.  It gives us a chance to meet the people who come and give them free water, sell our political buttons and just talk to them.  This year we sold our newly printed Rankin Dem tee-shirts.  We always have a great time there and look forward to next year.  See pics below.

Tea Party Event (Sunday, Nov. 8)

A group of about twenty Democrats attended  a "tea party" sponsored by the "Mississippi Tea Party Organization."  It was supposedly a health care forum.  Our member, James Parker, arranged for us all to attend the event.   It was what we expected, lies and distortion.  Medical doctors telling half truths about the proposed healthcare plan and our president. They told us we would be able to ask questions and they lied about that.  As the tea party express busses rolled in, we rolled out.  Below are pics from the event.
